Parma food valley
Day 1 – ARRIVAL
Arrival in PARMA, settling into the hotel, presentation of the program.
Day 2 – PARMA/LANGHIRANO/TORRECHIARA
Morning dedicated to visiting Parma and its most important monuments. Lunch in a typical Emiliana trattoria – an introduction to the region’s cuisine. During the afternoon, transfer to LANGHIRANO and a guided tour of a prosciuttificio where the famous “prosciutto di Parma” is produced, followed by samplings of hams with different agings at the factory. Before returning to the hotel, a visit to the Torrechiara Fortress.
Day 3 – PARMA/MONTICELLO
During the morning there will be a visit to a dairy that produces Parmigiano Reggiano DOP in the province of PARMA, preceded by a theoretical lesson on the history and characteristics of this world famous cheese. The afternoon will be dedicated to well-being at the MONTICELLO thermal spa in the province of Reggio Emilia.
Day 4 – REGGIO EMILIA
Following a guided tour of the historic district of REGGIO EMILIA, there will be visit to an acetaia to sample Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia that has been aged 25 years. Lunch in Reggio Emilia and return to the hotel. During the afternoon, cooking lessons at the hotel to learn how to prepare egg pasta stuffed with squash, greens, and potatoes, which will then be tasted during the dinner.
Day 5 – FELINO/CALESTANO
The morning will be dedicated to visiting the town of FELINO, homeland of the famous salami, with a visit to a production facility and the salami museum at the Felino Castle. Lunch at the castle. During the afternoon, a visit to the Apennines in the province of Parma and the town of CALESTANO. Dinner in FRAGNO, in the area known for black truffles and Porcini mushrooms.
Day 6 – ZIBELLO/SAN VITALE
Departure for ZIBELLO. The trip will be interrupted by a stop in SAN VITALE for a visit to the fortress. Visit to the Zibello culatello cantina (a cured pork salami made from the lean part of a ham) and a lunch of specialties produced in Parma’s lowlands. During the afternoon, departure by private coach and arrival planned during the evening.
Day 7 – DEPARTURE
After breakfast transfer by private motorcoach to Milano Malpensa airport (approximately 1.5 hours) or to any other destination you may request.
